I'm totally in love with my state. It's the best. Ever. Don't try to debate it with me. You'll lose.
And what better way to prove to my readers that it is the best darn state in the Union
than to list the great famous people who once called this beautiful place home!

I was more than a little upset
when I saw that her wiki-page
didn't say anything about MN
but then of course... I've never
been allowed to list wikipedia
as a "reliable source" for any of
my research papers - so take
that you lying fools! This totally
awesome chick is straight from
the very heart of Minnesota -
Ely! I always knew there was
something about Mary ... Camden.

A little weird? Yes.
A lot talented? Totally.
Prince was born and raised in Minneapolis and still to this day he hosts short-notice concerts at his home in the city! What a guy.

OK, so he's really more of an Illinois guy,
even though he was born in Minneapolis.
But he's an avid hockey fan - where do you think
that came from? Probably the land of 10 million
hockey players! It's alright, Vince ... I'd be willing
to put in a good word for you if you wanted to
proclaim your loyalty to Minnesota.

Get this, Winona is from my county, Olmsted! You go girl. She's even named after the nearby Minnesota city - Winona. Couldn't have guessed that, eh?

Minnesota, hail to thee!
Hail to thee, our state so dear,
Thy light shall ever be
A beacon bright and clear.
Thy son and daughters true
Will proclaim thee near and far,
They shall guard thy fame and adore thy name;
Thou shalt be their Northern Star.

Like the stream that bends to sea,
Like the pine that seeks the blue;
Minnesota, still for thee
Thy sons are strong and true.
From the woods and waters fair;
From the prairies waving far,
At thy call they throng with their shout and song;
Hailing thee their Northern Star.

Don't think I forgot the other great Minnesotans!
Cheers to you; Bob Dylan, Judy Garland, Jesse Ventura, F. Scott Fitzgerald ... and more
